After being awakened from a fitful slumber by his new fairy partner, Navi, Link sets out for an audience with the Great Deku Tree. However, he is surprised that his path to such an important appointment is blocked by the village bully, a Kokiri named Mido. With all the recent strange happenings in the forest, Mido will only let Link pass if he is ready for action. That means equipping with a shield for defense and a sword for offense.

Deku Stick

The Deku Shield

Link can clearly see the Deku Shield on display for sale in the local Kokiri Shop, but he does not have any Rupees to buy it. Fortunately, since most of the needs of the Kokiri have been harvested from the forest, Rupees are not at a premium. They can easily be found in the grass and bushes of the forest.

Deku Nut

The Kokiri Sword
