Deku Stick

Even Link's most valiant efforts will not be enough to save the Great Deku Tree from the evil curse. However, in its final moments, the tree will bequeath the Spiritual Stone of the Forest, the Kokiri Emerald, to Link. Along with this valuable mystical treasure, the Deku Tree will also give guidance on where to go next - to Hyrule Castle to visit Zelda, the princess of destiny. Although there are other places near Kokiri Forest that can be explored at this point, such as the Lost Woods, it would be best for Link to continue his quest as the Deku Tree suggests. Though this means leaving the forest that has been his home for as long as he can remember, if the danger threatening Hyrule is powerful enough to destroy the Deku Tree, the urgency of his mission is obvious.
