The extreme conditions on Death Mountain make it difficult for anything less than the most hardy creatures and plants to grow there. In spite of this, several species thrive on the mountain’s rocky slopes.

Bomb Flowers

The explosive Bomb Flower is the only plant that grows on Death Mountain, and even it is usually limited to secluded, subterranean locales. Although the plant’s fruit is explosive, it is extremely difficult to harvest it without the proper equipment. Only the Gorons have the skill to harness the Bomb Flower’s power.

Tektite

Spider-like Red Tektites swarm the steep slopes of Death Mountain. They usually lie in wait for something to approach them and then leap to attack.

Gorons

The long-living Goron Race of Death Mountain are now known as gentle and peace-loving, though it is said they were once a great warrior race. This is borne out in their devotion to Farore, the goddess of courage. Because they live for so long, Gorons are very patient and may seem slow to outsiders, but they are actually a fun-loving race that particularly love music. They spend a lot of time curled up in a ball, where they can be mistaken for a boulder until they abruptly sit up.
