Situated in the shadow of Death Mountain lies the relatively young village of Kakariko. Once the exclusive haunt of the mysterious Sheikah people, Zelda’s retainer Impa opened the village to anyone who cared to homestead at the foot of Death Mountain. While not as prosperous as Hyrule Castle Town, Kakariko is a growing hamlet with several construction projects currently in progress.

Except for a few intrepid and specially equipped mountaineers, few have seen the wonders of Death Mountain. Among the sites of interest is the near legendary Goron City, home of the rock-eating Gorons. In the caves and tunnels of Death Mountain, the Gorons use their special crop, the explosive Bomb Flowers, to mine special “top sirloin” rocks for food.
