Before the Dodongos invaded the caverns, the most dangerous creature found there would be an irritable Goron who had skipped lunch. Now the dark tunnels of the terrible dungeon are home to many threatening creatures who don’t appreciate being disturbed by young adventurers. Link will be forced to perfect his battle skills before he comes anywhere near the King Dodongo.

Beamos

The lone eye of the Beamos is constantly surveying its territory, on the look-out for intruders to fry with a blast from its white-hot laser. Although the Beamos are firmly connected to the ground, their laser attacks can move in all directions while searching for a target to skewer.

Baby Dodongos

Unlike other infants of the animal world, these worm-like monsters are anything but cute. Just when Link expects it least, a troop of Baby Dodongos can tunnel out of the ground and hungrily attack. Link can easily outrun these enemies, but he would prefer to get rid of them before they grow up.

Keese

Keese prefer to peacefully hang from the cavern’s cool ceilings, but they can quickly sneak up on Link if he doesn’t keep a sharp ear out for the chilling sound of their flapping wings. They move constantly, which makes them difficult to hit if you don’t use the Z-targeting feature.

Fire Keese

Fire Keese attack similarly to normal Keese, but their flame-covered wings make them a more threatening foe. The Fire Keese can quickly turn a Deku Shield into a pile of ashes if Link isn’t careful.

Armos

These mysterious statues patiently stand guard throughout the Dodongo Caverns. If Link happens to touch an Armos statue, it will spring to life and pursue the adventurer who disturbed its stony slumber. Some statues have been stationary for so long that they can no longer move unless Link pulls or pushes them.

Lizalfos

Lizalfos are lizard-like creatures with an ear-piecing battle cry. They normally attack in pairs, and it takes numerous slashes from Link’s sword before the soldiers admit defeat.

Dodongos

Dodongos are almost identical to the King Dodongo, but much, much smaller. Don’t be fooled by their slow-moving pace, because their fire-breath can cover ground much faster than Link can flee.
