The Water Temple's monstrous size and confusing puzzles make it one of Link's greatest challenges. To navigate the twisting passageways and earn the Water Medallion, he'll have to frequently switch between the Kokiri Boots and the Iron Boots. Link's first challenge is to somehow change the water level in the Temple.

Princess Ruto

When Link first enters the dungeon, the Temple is completely flooded. To get to the bottom floor of the Temple, the heavy Iron Boots are a necessity. Link can remove water from the Temple by entering the corridor marked by two unlit torches.

Flaming Arrows

With the water level at its lowest point, Link can drop down the hole to the room where he met Princess Ruto. To gain access to the next door, Link must find a way to make all three torches burn at the same time

Geyser

On the ground floor of the main chamber, there is a passageway which is suspiciously barred by a moveable block. Link will have to push this heavy stone out the way before progressing further in the dungeon.

Hoard the Keys

The next room contains a whirlpool with an unusual dragon's head statue submerged underwater. Link should don his Iron Boots to sink to the bottom of the pool, and then take a closer look at the dragon's mouth.

Raise the Water

Back in the central chamber of the Temple, Link can open a locked door to the middle tower. Inside, you'll find a ledge which Link can easily reach with the Hookshot.
