The pastures of Hyrule Field are safe during the day, but at night travelling is dangerous. After dusk, two threats appear: the Stalchild and the plant-like Peahat. A rare sight on the plains is the mysterious giant owl, known as Gaebora Kaepora. Although legend says this owl is a wise creature that knows many things about the land of Hyrule, few have heard it speak.

Stalchild

No one knows the origin of the Stalchildren that haunt Hyrule Field under the stars. Some say they are the spirits of fallen warriors, others that they are the immature form of the Stalfos. Whatever the case, they are slow and unintelligent, and can easy be avoided if you keep moving.

Peahat

Although usually dormant at night, during the day the Peahat plants actively seek out prey. They are sensitive to vibrations and will send out smaller plants to attack creatures that are small enough to fit into their maws. It’s best to keep a safe distance from these plants and leave them unmolested.

Garbora Karpora

Little is known about this elusive giant bird. It has been spotted in many parts of Hyrule, but only from a distance. It appears to be friendly, and some have said that it has been known to help lost travelers return home to their village.
